Kat Adams

Hey, I’m Kat, the owner here at Pine State Doula and a fiercely passionate perinatal professional based in Portland, Maine. I am a doula, lactation counselor, childbirth educator, reproductive justice advocate, and mother.

Since coming to birth work in the spring of 2018 I have helped over 100 families thrive during their childbearing year. Spending time with folks preparing for the physical and emotional changes involved with giving birth and becoming parents brings me immense joy and fulfillment. I bring my training and extensive experience along with up to date, evidence-based information to all my client interactions while simultaneously encouraging folks to look beyond the data to their intuition for guidance.

I strongly believe that all reproductive experiences deserve the same care and support as welcoming a baby. As a full spectrum doula, I support folks through fertility, birth, abortion, loss, postpartum, and more. All avenues to and through pregnancy and postpartum are welcome here.

Outside of my work in reproductive care, I enjoy exploring all Maine has to offer with my daughter and partner and keeping my hands busy with knitting, crochet, DIYs around the house, and kitchen projects.
